Saw Operative

Elevation Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Trainee Saw Setter / Operator to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business within their operations team. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of materials through sawing operations, using a range of saws. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong team-oriented approach. Saw Setter / Operator Location: Sheffield Hours: Rotating shifts – Mornings & Afternoons Contract: Permanent Responsibilities: • Operating semi-automatic saws in line with the production schedule • Extracting materials using lifting equipment, including slings, cranes and FLT • Moving jobs through the system using PDA operations • Weighing, measuring, and inspecting materials prior to dispatch • Packing and dispatching goods • Part marking and deburring cut billets • Maintaining cleanliness using floor cleaning equipment and general housekeeping • Managing swarf and ensuring clean handovers at shift changeovers • Monitoring and reporting maintenance requirements to the Operations Manager • Managing coolant and blade stock levels • Supporting other team members and assisting with wider manufacturing duties as required • Adhering to Health & Safety standards and contributing to a positive working environment Requirements: • Previous experience operating band saws • Overhead crane experience • FLT licence • Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude • Computer literate • Willingness to support with cleaning/maintenance as required • Previous experience in the metals industry Benefits: • 4% Contributory Pension Scheme • 3x Life Cover • Modern, clean working environment • Free onsite parking • Overtime available If you’re a reliable and driven individual looking to join a stable and growing company, we’d love to hear from you.
