Attendance OfficerLocation: Manchester Enterprise Academy, Wythenshawe, Manchester Contract: Full Time Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Start Date: 1st September2026 Join Our TeamManchester Enterprise Academy is seeking an experienced, committed and highly organised Attendance Officer to join their dedicated pastoral team. As part of Prospere Learning Trust, they are passionate about ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed through excellent attendance, strong pastoral support and high expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced attendance professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people and understands the vital role attendance plays in student achievement. About the RoleAs Attendance Officer, you will take a lead role in promoting excellent attendance across the academy. Working closely with students, families, pastoral teams, safeguarding staff and external agencies, you will identify attendance concerns, implement effective intervention strategies and support students to overcome barriers to regular school attendance. The successful candidate will be confident in building positive relationships with families while also being able to challenge and support where appropriate. The role is to start on 1st September 2026 and could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities • Monitor, analyse and report on student attendance and punctuality. • Identify attendance concerns and implement timely interventions. • Work closely with parents and carers to improve attendance. • Conduct home visits where appropriate. • Liaise with external agencies, including the Local Authority, to support students with persistent absence. • Maintain accurate attendance records using the school's management information system. • Produce attendance reports for senior leaders and governors. • Promote a culture of excellent attendance across the academy. • Support safeguarding procedures relating to attendance and missing education. The Successful Candidate Will Have • Experience working in a school attendance or pastoral role. • Excellent knowledge of attendance legislation, guidance and best practice. • Experience of working with attendance management systems such as Arbor, SIMS or Bromcom. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • The ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. • A proactive and resilient approach to supporting young people and families.
