Job description

EduExec Recruitment is working with a welcoming, community-focused school in North West London to recruit a School Business Manager who will sit within the senior leadership team. This is a school that sees the role as central to how it operates and is looking for someone who wants that level of involvement rather than a purely administrative brief. Reporting to the Headteacher, the successful candidate will take ownership of the school's operations across finance, HR, premises and administration, with real scope to shape how things are done rather than simply maintain what's already in place. The role carries both the day-to-day demands you'd expect and will have a key input to medium and long-term planning. The role will encompass: • Leading on budget setting, financial monitoring and reporting, with a direct line into strategic decision-making • Overseeing HR administration, safer recruitment and staffing arrangements, with autonomy to manage the detail • Health and safety compliance and premises management, working closely with site and catering colleagues • Acting as the school's lead on data protection and statutory policy compliance • Managing a small office team, with the space to develop them and shape how the function runs • Advising governors and senior leaders directly on financial and organisational matters The selected candidate will have solid experience in school business management and genuine depth across finance, HR and compliance, who wants more than a caretaking role. Confidence operating at senior level matters, as does a willingness to be hands-on when needed and to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture. Discretion, integrity and the ability to build trust quickly across a school community are essential. The role is 52 week position, with flexibility to reduce to a term time plus a select number of holiday working weeks, for the right candidate. EduExec Recruitment Ltd is committed to equal opportunities and does not discriminate on the grounds of age, race, gender, disability, religion, belief, or sexual orientation. We operate in full accordance with UK employment legislation. EduExec Recruitment Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary staff.
