School Caretaker Location: Bushey, Hertfordshire Start Date: 1 September 2026 Contract: Full Time, Contract, Autumn Term Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience School Caretaker RequiredWe are seeking a reliable, hardworking and proactive Caretaker to join our friendly school community in Bushey from September 2026. This is an important role within the school, ensuring that our premises are safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for pupils, staff and visitors. The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for: • Opening and securing the school site each day. • Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and general handyman duties. • Ensuring the school grounds are clean, safe and presentable. • Undertaking health and safety checks and maintaining records. • Supporting contractors and monitoring work carried out on site. • Setting up rooms and equipment for assemblies, events and meetings. • Managing deliveries and site security. • Assisting with emergency call-outs where required. • Supporting the school in maintaining a welcoming environment for all. We Are Looking For Someone Who: • Has experience in caretaking, site management, facilities or maintenance work. • Is practical, organised and able to work independently. • Has a good understanding of health and safety requirements. • Takes pride in maintaining high standards. • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Is trustworthy, flexible and dependable. • Can respond calmly and effectively to unexpected situations.
