Teaching Assistant – with an "Outstanding" Autism Specialist School • Location: Rural Burgess Hill, West Sussex • Pay Rate: £120 per day / £23,500 to £25,000 per annum - depending on experience • Hours: Full-Time | Term Time Only Join our specialist school supporting students aged 11–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant who thrives in a calm, structured environment and enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning. This role is ideal for someone who values empathy, creativity, and consistency. What You’ll Be Doing • Supporting students in lessons, helping them access learning and stay engaged. • Encouraging independence, emotional regulation, and social interaction. • Assisting with lesson delivery, both in small groups and 1:1 settings. • Promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support. • Maintaining accurate records of progress and supporting individual learning plans. What We’re Looking For • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with ASD or other special educational needs. • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and how it can be adapted for learners with additional needs. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet individual student needs. • Commitment to safeguarding and professional development. • A genuine passion for helping young people grow and succeed.
