Section Manager – Plumbing, Gas & Renewable Energy Location: West London Salary: £47,939 - £52,165 Contract: Full Time Shape the Future of Sustainable Building Services Education An FE college based in West London is investing heavily in the future of Engineering, Technology and Innovation, with brand-new Electrical Installation, Plumbing and Building Services facilities opening in September 2026. They are seeking an inspirational Section Manager – Plumbing, Gas & Renewable Energy to lead and develop the Plumbing curriculum, support outstanding learner outcomes, and help drive the next generation of skilled professionals into industry. Reporting to the Head of School for Engineering (Technology and Innovation), you'll manage Course Team Leaders, Lecturers and support staff, whilst maintaining a teaching commitment and playing a key role in curriculum development, quality improvement and employer engagement. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the Plumbing, Gas and Renewable Energy provision. • Drive learner recruitment, retention, achievement and progression. • Line manage teaching and support staff, including performance management and development. • Develop innovative, industry-relevant curriculum programmes. • Build strong relationships with employers and industry stakeholders. • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance. • Manage resources, timetables and operational delivery. • Teach up to 16 hours per week across relevant programmes. • Support the College's commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion. About You You will bring: • A minimum Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Heating (NVQ or City & Guilds Advanced Craft). • A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (DET, PGCE or equivalent). • Recent successful teaching experience within Plumbing. • Experience leading, managing or coordinating teams. • Strong understanding of curriculum development and quality improvement. • Excellent communication, organisational and people management skills. • A passion for learner success and vocational education.
