Teaching Assistant – Complex Needs & Sensory Learning We are seeking an exceptional individual to support pupils with a range of learning difficulties, autism, complex communication needs, physical disabilities, sensory processing differences and medical needs. This role centres around developing engagement, communication, interaction and independence through highly personalised learning experiences. Key Responsibilities • Support learners on a 1:1 and small group basis. • Deliver sensory, play-based and experiential learning activities. • Promote communication through Makaton, PECS, AAC, visual timetables and intensive interaction techniques. • Support pupils with personal care, mobility and healthcare needs where required. • Build trusting relationships that help learners feel safe, regulated and ready to learn. • Encourage engagement, emotional regulation and social development. • Work alongside teachers, therapists and families to achieve EHCP outcomes. • Celebrate and recognise small-step progress and individual achievements. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about building learners' confidence, independence, employability and community engagement. Key Responsibilities • Support learners across a broad and engaging curriculum. • Encourage independence in everyday tasks and decision-making. • Assist with employability, travel training and community-based learning. • Develop functional literacy and numeracy skills. • Support personal development and preparation for adulthood outcomes. • Promote resilience, problem-solving and self-confidence. • Help learners access work-related learning opportunities and enrichment activities. • Support pupils to achieve individual EHCP and personal targets.
