Learning Support Assistant • Location: Rural Burgess Hill, West Sussex • Daily Rate: Circa £120 • Job Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only • School provided free shuttle bus from Brighton Join our specialist school as a Learning Support Assistant, dedicated to supporting students aged 11–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a calm, structured environment and is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning. Day-to-day of the role: • Support students in lessons to help them access learning and stay engaged. • Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social interaction. • Assist with lesson delivery, both in small groups and 1:1 settings. • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support. • Maintain accurate records of progress and support individual learning plans. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with ASD or other special educational needs. • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and how it can be adapted for learners with additional needs. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet individual student needs. • Commitment to safeguarding and professional development. • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A–C or equivalent). • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or willingness to train). • Understanding of safeguarding, SEN, and inclusive education. • A clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.
