Teaching Assistant / Sports Coach Daily Rate: £110 - £130 per day Location: Custom House, East London Job Type: Full-time Are you passionate about supporting young people both in the classroom and through sport? We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant / Sports Coach to join a welcoming school in Custom House. This role is perfect for someone with previous experience working in a school setting who is committed to helping pupils succeed academically, socially, and physically. The successful candidate will support classroom learning while also delivering engaging sports and physical activities that encourage confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles. Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons. • Work with individual pupils and small groups to provide targeted learning support. • Assist students with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development. • Deliver and support sports coaching sessions, PE lessons, and extracurricular activities. • Promote participation, teamwork, and positive behaviour through sport. • Help prepare classroom resources and sports equipment. • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. • Support pupils during break times, school trips, and school events. • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students. Required Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience working with children in a school environment. • Experience as a Sports Coach, PE Coach, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. • Enthusiastic, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young people. • Ability to motivate and engage students through both learning and sport. • Relevant sports coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
