SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time (Maternity Cover) Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire Start Date: Immediate (September 2026) Contract: Full-time, 1 Year (Maternity Cover) Salary: £95+ per day An Outstanding Primary School in St Albans, Hertfordshire is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis for an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with additional needs, including those who may present with challenging behaviour. With just under 400 pupils, this vibrant and well-resourced school is renowned for its inclusive ethos, strong leadership, and nurturing approach to supporting every child to reach their full potential. You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team who work collaboratively to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * Experience supporting pupils with SEN (1:1 and small group support) * Strong behaviour management skills * Proven experience using de-escalation techniques in a school setting * A calm, patient, and resilient approach * Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff * A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs This role would suit an SEN TA who thrives in a hands-on support role and is confident working with pupils who require emotional and behavioural support.
