SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Complex Needs) - HackneyFull-Time | September Start | Hackney Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference to a child's education? A welcoming secondary school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide full-time 1:1 support for a student with complex physical and medical needs. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, caring and confident supporting children with high levels of need. The RoleWorking Monday to Friday (8:00am-3:30pm), you will provide full wraparound support throughout the school day, including: • Supporting the student with arrival and departure from school • Assisting with all aspects of personal care and toileting • Supporting with feeding during lunch and breaktimes • Supervising meals in a separate room due to severe allergies • Monitoring the student's wellbeing throughout the day • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals • Helping the student access learning across the curriculum The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who has: • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND • Confidence assisting with personal care • A calm, nurturing and professional approach • Excellent communication skills • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff • Reliability and commitment to a full-time role Experience supporting students with complex medical needs, autism, physical disabilities or profound learning difficulties would be highly advantageous.
