Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only
Pay: £14.25 - £16.68 per hour
SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Weston-super-MareProspero Teaching is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Taunton that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.
The Role
• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and SEMH.
• Delivering tailored interventions and learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
• Promoting inclusion and supporting pupils both academically and socially.
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies where required.
The Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Experience within education, care, youth work, or support work backgrounds will be considered.

Essential Requirements
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
