SEND Class Teacher - Complex Needs Provision Location: Peckham, South East London Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term A supportive and inclusive primary school in Peckham is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Class Teacher to join their Complex Needs Provision from September 2026. About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead a class of pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction difficulties, and learning disabilities. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment that enables every pupil to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet individual needs and EHCP outcomes. • Lead and manage a team of Teaching Assistants within the classroom. • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records. • Work closely with the SENCO, therapists, external agencies, and families. • Develop and implement effective behaviour and communication strategies. • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). • Experience teaching pupils with SEND and complex needs. • Strong understanding of Autism, communication difficulties, and sensory needs. • Excellent classroom management and differentiation skills. • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing. • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
