Job description
This role will support Section B, F and I mediation activity for school-aged children and will be critical in strengthening our capacity to manage increasing demand and ensure timely, high-quality engagement with families.
The key responsibilities for this EHCCO will include:
-Preparing for mediation meetings, including reviewing EHC plans, case history, and the Local Authority position
-Liaising with families and professionals ahead of mediation to clarify issues in dispute
-Attending and leading mediation meetings with families, ensuring a clear and professional representation of the Local Authority
-Recording outcomes and agreed actions following mediation
-Working closely with casework teams to ensure any agreed amendments or actions are progressed promptly
-Supporting consistency in LA responses and learning across mediation cases
Strong statutory SEND knowledge and experience;
A thorough understanding of Education, Health and Care Plan processes;
Experience representing Local Authorities within mediation proceedings; and
Previous SEND mediation experience.
