SEND Teaching Assistant (Sports Coaching Experience Welcome)
• Daily Rate: £90 - £110
• Location: Abbeywood/Bexley
• Job Type: Full-time
• Start Date: 2nd September
• Working Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Abbeywood. This role is particularly suited to candidates who have experience in sports coaching, alongside a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Assist in the delivery of tailored educational activities, focusing on both academic and physical development.
• Utilize sports and physical activities to engage students and support their emotional and social growth.
• Work closely with the lead teacher to implement educational plans and manage classroom activities.
• Support the individual needs of students, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and report on the progress of students, adapting strategies as needed to optimize learning.
• Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and understanding of SEMH needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in sports coaching or leading physical activities with children.
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, ideally within an SEMH setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle challenging situations.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willing to undergo this process).
