SEND Learning Support Assistant

SEND LSA (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Learning Support Assistant) • Hourly Rate: £16 PAYE or £17.05 (umbrella) • Job Type: Temp to Perm, Term Time Only • Location: Lambeth, LSEC West Norwood • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 008:30- 17:00 with 1 hour break) Join our dedicated team in a role that is pivotal in supporting young people and adults with SEND. This position offers the opportunity to facilitate access to learning programmes and college services, enhancing educational outcomes and personal development in line with individual Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs). Day-to-day of the role: • Provide person-centred learning support to learners with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities. • Support may include personal care as necessary. • Work with individuals or small groups to encourage engagement with activities or to work independently. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with learners, teachers, parents/carers, and other agencies involved with the students. • Assist learners with medical needs, personal care, and mobility, following instructions from learners regarding their support needs. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Good literacy and numeracy skills. • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment. • Strong understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and the challenges faced by those with learning difficulties. • Willingness to assist with learners' medical needs and personal care. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Exceptional organisational skills combined with proficient IT knowledge and sound administration skills. • Experience working with SEND learners in a secondary or further education environment is desirable. • Must possess a valid child and adult DBS.
