In this role, you will lead a small class of pupils, creating a supportive, therapeutic, and structured environment where every child can overcome their barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities: • Planning and delivering an adapted, sensory-rich curriculum tailored to pupils' EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans). • Using specialist communication systems (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual aids) to support non-verbal or pre-verbal pupils. • Managing and mentoring a small team of SEND Teaching Assistants to ensure a safe, coordinated classroom. • Utilizing positive behavioral management strategies (e.g., Team Teach/positive handling) to de-escalate challenging behavior and support emotional regulation. Requirements & Qualifications: • Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification. • Proven experience teaching children or young people with severe, profound, or complex educational needs (SEND). • Deep understanding of Autism (ASD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). • Strong behavior management skills combined with a calm, nurturing, and patient teaching approach.
