We are currently recruiting a proactive, versatile SEND Teaching Assistant for a position starting in September 2026. Skills Required • A highly adaptable mindset and the willingness to work comfortably across different school sites depending on daily or weekly requirements. • Proven experience supporting children or young people with complex needs, such as autism, physical disabilities, or severe learning difficulties. • Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with non-verbal or communication-impaired pupils. • A calm, encouraging, and professional approach when supporting students who face barriers to learning or display challenging behaviours. Job Responsibilities • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils to ensure they can fully access the curriculum and specialised learning resources. • Assisting class teachers across the Castleford and Wakefield sites in managing classroom dynamics and maintaining a positive learning environment. • Supporting students with their personal care, mobility, and sensory regulation needs throughout the school day. • Monitoring and recording student progress, boosting their self-esteem, and strictly adhering to all safeguarding protocols. Essential Requirements • Right to Work: Full eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role). • DBS: An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Randstad. • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young adults within a UK educational or care setting. • Transport: The ability to reliably travel to the designated sites in Castleford and Wakefield as required by the school's needs.
