About the Role As a senior member of the perfusion team, you will contribute to a high-performing service supporting a wide range of cardiac procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward-thinking department with exposure to complex and varied caseloads. You will be confident and competent across: • Adult cardiac surgical perfusion techniques • Cell salvage and blood conservation strategies • Point-of-care blood analysis • Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest (DHCA) • ECMO support Paediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) experience is desirable but not essential, with opportunities for development in these areas. Currently, the cardiac team undertakes 1800 adults and 400 paediatric procedures per year across our five cardiac theatres. You must be accredited by the Society of Perfusionists of Great Britain & Ireland and registered with the College of Clinical Perfusionists of Great Britain & Ireland. This role attracts an additional Recruitment and Retention Premium (see details below), a contribution to relocation costs for eligible candidates as well as an exceptional NHSP rate for additional shifts. What we're looking for:You will be a team player who can bring motivation and positivity to your work environment, happy to work autonomously and in possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, with empathy and compassion at the heart of the care that you provide. You will be expected to deliver high quality care within the framework of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be well supported by an experienced inter-professional team. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out various administrative duties associated with the role and will be delegated additional responsibilities as required. Full participation in the department on-call rota is essential.
