Criminal Defence Senior AssociateLondon Competitive salary, dependent on experience A leading criminal defence firm in London is seeking a Criminal Defence Senior Associate to join its specialist team. The firm has an established reputation across London and the South East for providing expert criminal defence representation. With a large team of criminal defence lawyers and higher court advocates, the firm handles a broad spectrum of work, including serious, complex and high-pressure criminal matters. This role would suit an experienced criminal defence solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload, supervising junior lawyers and contributing to the continued development of a successful department. The role will involve: • Managing a broad caseload of criminal defence matters • Advising clients in serious and complex cases • Attending police stations, Magistrates' Court and Crown Court as required • Preparing cases for trial and working closely with counsel and experts • Supervising and supporting junior lawyers and paralegals • Helping to maintain and develop strong client and referrer relationships • Contributing to the growth and reputation of the team The ideal candidate will have: • Significant experience in criminal defence • Strong technical knowledge and excellent judgement • Confidence managing serious and complex cases • Excellent client care, advocacy and case management skills • Police station accreditation and duty solicitor status would be advantageous • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members • A proactive, commercially aware and team-focused approach This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a highly regarded criminal defence practice offering quality work, responsibility and clear scope for further progression.
