SENIOR DATA ENGINEER
£75,000

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a well-known, purpose-led organisation at the start of a major data transformation. You'll play a pivotal role in building a modern data platform from the ground up, working in a highly creative environment with real impact across the business.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a large, publicly funded organisation within the arts and entertainment space, employing around 1,000 people across multiple iconic venues. They've recently brought in a new Director of Data & Insights to elevate their data capabilities, with a strong focus on innovation, AI, and unlocking value from their data.This is a greenfield opportunity where you'll help shape the data strategy and engineering standards in a collaborative, non-corporate environment.
THE ROLE
• Lead the design and delivery of a cloud-based Lakehouse platform using Microsoft Fabric
• Build scalable data pipelines and implement Medallion architecture
• Develop robust data models across multiple business domains
• Establish best practice engineering standards and data governance
• Manage and mentor a small team of data engineers (minimum 2)
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
• Enable downstream analytics, including Power BI semantic models and dashboards
• Contribute to long-term AI and data innovation initiatives
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• 6+ years' experience in data engineering
• Strong expertise in data modelling (dimensional modelling and semantic layer design)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services
• Proven end-to-end delivery across the data lifecycle (through to visualisation)
• Experience managing or mentoring engineers
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Nice to have:
• Experience working across multiple datasets/business domains
• Exposure to AI or advanced analytics use cases
• Background in high-growth or less mature environments
