Senior finance manager- Reporting to the CEO
Reed is excited to be working with a company in Gloucester who is looking for an amazing finance manager or someone who is looking to step into the role of a Finance manager, within a company that is supportive and close knit.
Job summary
We are seeking a skilled UK recognised qualified accountant (CIMA or equivalent) with excellent analytical and leadership skills with a strong track record in organisational operations and governance.
They want someone who is wanting to lead a team, but still have some top-down direction from the CEO and to be working closely alongside other members of the senior management team.
Key responsibilities
• Lead the budgeting of the organisation, maintaining accurate budgets to ensure effective management of funds.
• Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls, statutory accounts and audit processes.
• Lead and manage the finance function, including supervision of the finance team.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and scenario planning.
• Manage cash flow, aged debtors, credit control and treasury management.
• Prepare monthly Management Accounts, cash flow reports and balance sheets, explaining variances to senior stakeholders.
• Monitor grant, funding and project expenditure and provide financial information for funder reports.
• Oversee payroll and pension processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Support the Senior Management Team and participate in the investment committee.
• Lead audit preparation and maintain professional relationships with auditors.
• Commit to continued CPD and undertake other duties appropriate to the role.
Person Specification
• UK recognised accounting qualification (CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a senior finance role
• Strong analytical, organisational and leadership skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Sage 50, Excel and payroll processing.
• Advanced Excel skills, including ODBC queries, Pivot Tables and Macros (essential).
• Experience of audit management and delivery.
• Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret complex information and support strategic decision-making.
• Experience working at a senior level.
• Understanding of Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding.
• Current clean UK Driving Licence.
