Senior Finance Officer

Part Time Finance Officer 20-25hpw, Term Time + 4 weeks, £38500 pro rata, Guildford This is a permanent part-time office-based job working 20-25 hours a week over 4 or 5 days in Guildford during term time + 4 weeks (a total of 43 weeks a year). The actual salary is £25583. We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accountant to join the Finance Team and take responsibility for systems, data integrity and process improvement, ensuring strong controls that will support effective financial management and decision-making across the organisation. In the role you will : • Lead the administration, development and improvement of finance, purchasing and budgeting systems. • Provide expert support, guidance and training to colleagues on finance systems and processes. • Help maintain robust financial controls, compliance and data quality. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancements. • Support financial reporting, analysis, and month-end and year-end activities. • Work closely with budget holders and colleagues to deliver a high-quality finance service. The ideal candidate will have: • Experience working in a finance, systems or data-focused environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. • The ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users. • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will need to pass an enhanced DBS check and an occupational health check. As this role is office based, candidates will need to live within a reasonable commute of Guildford, the office is just out of town and easily accessible from the A3.
