Job description

The Senior HR Business Partner will be able to operate confidently at both a strategic and operational level, building strong relationships with senior leaders while providing expert HR guidance and support within the public sector. This temporary position is based in London and requires expertise in human resources operations and strategy. Description • Partner with senior leaders to provide strategic HR advice aligned with organisational objectives. • Lead organisational design, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives. • Support organisational change, restructures, and consultation processes, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice. • Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, and performance matters. • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with employment law and organisational needs. • Build effective relationships with trade unions and lead consultation and negotiation activities where required. • Analyse workforce data and HR metrics to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. • Drive improvements across people processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience. • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver key HR projects and organisational priorities. Profile A successful Senior HR Business Partner should have: • Proven experience in a strategic HR role within the public sector or another large, complex, unionised organisation. • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice. • Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations cases. • Experience in workforce planning, organisational design, and change management. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. • A recognised CIPD qualification (Level 7 or equivalent) or significant relevant HR experience.
