Senior Management Accountant - £45,000 to £55,000 - Nottingham - Office Based Not every finance role is about stepping into a polished finance function. Some of the most rewarding opportunities come from helping build one. We're working exclusively with an established, project based business that is on a journey of improvement. An experienced Finance Director has joined with a clear vision for where the business needs to go and is now looking for an ambitious Senior Management Accountant to become their number two. This is far more than a traditional management accounting role. You'll work alongside the Finance Director, gaining exposure to the wider running of the finance function and playing an important part in shaping its future. The expectation is that this role will develop with you. For the right person, it offers the chance to build the experience needed to take the next step into a more senior finance leadership position over the next two to three years. The role This is a business in transition, so it's only fair to be honest. There are challenges to tackle, processes to improve and a finance function that is still evolving. Rather than inheriting a finished product, you'll become a key part of building it. Working closely with the Finance Director, you'll be involved in: • Producing monthly management accounts • Cash flow management and forecasting • Strengthening financial controls and reporting • Supporting commercial decision making • Improving finance processes across the business • Helping shape the future structure of the finance team This is a hands on role where you'll be expected to roll your sleeves up and get involved in the detail while also contributing to the bigger picture. About you You'll probably already be working as a Senior Management Accountant, Finance Manager or be an ambitious Management Accountant ready for the next step. Experience within a project based, engineering, construction or subcontracting environment would be beneficial, although it's certainly not essential. More important is your mindset.
