AR891 - Senior Workshop Technician (Wiring & Assembly) Location: Leominster Salary: £30,000 Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Workshop Technician on behalf of one of our clients. Working to exceptional standards, you will help ensure every product leaving the workshop is produced to the highest level of quality. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: • Wire and assemble decorative light fittings from technical drawings. • Carry out electrical testing, fault finding and quality inspections prior to dispatch. • Assemble mechanical components to exacting standards. • Interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials and production documentation. • Support prototype builds and contribute to continuous product improvement. • Mentor and assist junior workshop technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices. • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and workshop health and safety procedures. • Maintain accurate production records and report any technical issues to management. • Work collaboratively with the design, engineering and production teams to deliver projects on schedule. Skills and Qualifications: • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). • Demonstrable electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly processes. • Excellent understanding of electrical wiring principles and safe working practices. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams. • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. • Exceptional attention to detail with pride in producing high-quality workmanship. • Experience using a wide range of hand tools and workshop equipment. • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team. Desirable: • Familiar with electronics. • Experience with the Underwriters Laboratories standards. • Knowledge of UKCA/CE compliance and electrical testing procedures.
