Job description

Mitchell Adam are delighted to be partnering with a growing property development business based near Worcester, who are looking to appoint an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in property accounting who is looking to take ownership of a portfolio while joining a business that continues to invest in both its people and its finance function. Working across this interesting function, you will take responsibility for the preparation of service charge budgets, annual reconciliations and year-end accounts, ensuring all reporting is delivered accurately and on time. Alongside the technical accounting, you'll become the key point of contact for landlords, tenants and managing agents, building strong relationships while resolving queries and providing a high level of service throughout the reporting cycle. With the business continuing to grow, you'll also have the opportunity to improve existing processes, strengthen reporting and play an active role in the development of the finance function. Supported by an experienced property finance team, this role offers an excellent platform for someone looking to continue building their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Skills Needed • Previous experience within service charge or property accounting, ideally gained within a managing agent or property business. • Strong understanding of service charge budgets, reconciliations and year-end accounts. • Confident communicating with landlords, tenants, managing agents and other stakeholders. • Strong Excel skills, including the use of Pivot Tables, with the ability to learn new finance systems quickly.
