Sheet Metal Fabricator Engineering & Manufacturing Job type: On-site Contract type: Full time Location: Sunderland Salary: £15-16.00 per hour Desired systems/software knowledge: CSCS Card Holder 1.About the role Reed is recruiting for a Sheet Metal Fabricator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based on-site in Sunderland. This opportunity would suit an individual who thrives in a precision-focused production environment and can contribute positively within a collaborative team culture. The position offers involvement in the manufacture of high-quality metal components supporting a varied and fast-paced operation. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate adaptability when managing changing production priorities and a proactive approach to resolving fabrication challenges efficiently. Strong communication and cooperation across the team would be highly valued, alongside a consistent commitment to quality standards, safe working practices, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing process. 2.What you’ll be doing • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using engineering drawings, specifications, and production instructions to required quality standards. • Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently, ensuring all work is completed within agreed production timescales. • Inspect completed work to identify defects, inaccuracies, or material issues, taking corrective action where required. • Collaborate with colleagues across production and engineering teams to support workflow efficiency and resolve manufacturing challenges. • Have a flexible approach as each job will be unique - be happy getting stuck in where needed to ensure timely delivery to Customers. • Maintain a clean and organised working environment while adhering to health, safety, and company compliance procedures. 3.Who we’re looking for • Previous experience within sheet metal fabrication or a similar engineering and manufacturing environment. • Ability to interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately to support precise fabrication work. • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing production requirements and priorities. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work productively within a team-based environment. • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
