Shift Support Operative

Our client is seeking a Shift Support Operative to join their on-site engineering team at a major manufacturing facility in Broughton, near Chester. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract role with the potential for future career development. The RoleWorking alongside a skilled engineering team, you will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and operation of a large fleet of cranes and lifting equipment. You'll ensure engineers have the tools, equipment and support needed to carry out their duties safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities • Supporting engineering teams with daily maintenance activities. • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and compliance. • Operating MEWPs, vans and other site vehicles safely. • Carrying out banksman duties and managing work area cordons. • Managing stores activities, including booking stock and spare parts in and out. • Assisting with inventory control and stock management. • Working closely with colleagues and the customer to ensure smooth operations. About YouEssential Experience & Skills • Experience working within a manufacturing, factory or industrial environment. • Strong commitment to health and safety. • Excellent communication skills. • Good organisational and time management abilities. • Team-player mentality with a proactive approach. • Full UK driving licence. • Right to work in the UK. Desirable • Previous banksman or safety-critical experience. • Experience using stock management systems. • IPAF certification (3A/3B). • Forklift Truck (FLT) experience.
