To promote an ethos of patient confidentiality throughout the department, ensuring that all confidential data is managed in line with data protection requirements and that any concerns are escalated.

To champion evidence-based practices in medicines management, administering, supplying and prescribing in line with own scope of practice and NMC guidelines and organisational policies and procedures.

To lead and promote governance activity, championing clinical effectiveness and ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health's Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence-based guidelines.

To contribute towards the department's action and service development plans (in line with own role and sphere of practice).

To implement all policies and procedures across the department, role modelling clinical excellence and driving consistency, comprehension and compliance.

To identify resource requirements (pertaining to specialist area) and communicate these to the hospital's clinical leadership team, ensuring the delivery of a fit for purpose and clinically efficient service.

In partnership with Clinical Head of Department, to monitor the use of clinical resources (direct and indirect costs) within the department, ensuring clinical and resource efficiency.

To secure and oversee the provision and quality of equipment and consumables required within the department, ensuring quality in usage and clinical efficiency.
*
To identify opportunities and drive quality improvement and assurance activity throughout the department, supporting the delivery of Nuffield Health's clinical audit schedule and continuous improvement cycle.
*
To support the investigation of legal, professional or organisational breaches (as required), ensuring effective management and resolution.
*
To contribute towards local and organisational governance as required, e.g. local projects, Service evaluation, Policy/SOP Development, EAG activity, and locally disseminate.
