Skilled Workshop Operative
Are you an experienced woodworker looking for your next opportunity? Our client in Reading is seeking a skilled and reliable Workshop Operative to join their busy team manufacturing high-quality outdoor furniture and timber products.
This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, use their own initiative, and produce quality work with little or no supervision.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:00
Pay Rates:
• 3-day trial period paid at £12.71 per hour
• Following successful completion of the trial and demonstration of the required skills and ability to work without supervision, the pay rate increases to £14.10 per hour
• Overtime after 10 hours per day and all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays are paid at £21.15 per hour
What you'll do:
• Manufacture and assemble high-quality outdoor furniture and timber products
• Cut, shape and prepare timber and other materials
• Operate workshop tools, machinery and saws safely and efficiently
• Work independently to complete jobs to a high standard
• Maintain quality standards and identify any issues
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
What you'll need:
• Previous woodworking, joinery or furniture manufacturing experience
• Experience making furniture from timber
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Confidence using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
• A proactive and practical approach to work
