We're recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate Social Work Students to work as Behaviour Mentors in schools across Newport. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills supporting children and young people, while building experience that complements your studies and future career. The Role Support pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and engagement with learning Build strong relationships with pupils, teachers and pastoral teams Record progress and contribute to behaviour support strategies Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment What Aspire People Can Offer You Flexible work around your university timetable Long-term and day-to-day opportunities Valuable experience for a future career in Social Work Competitive daily rates from £90 per day (dependent on experience) Holiday pay available Free CPD training including safeguarding and behaviour management Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement DBS refund available (within the £100 joining bonus) Who We're Looking For Currently studying Social Work or a related degree Experience working with children or young people is essential (placement, volunteering, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care or similar) Calm, patient and resilient approach Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential Welsh-speaking skills are desirable but not essential Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one REFER A FRIEND Do you know a Teacher or Teaching Assistant looking for work?
