Special Needs Teacher (ECT)

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to work within a specialist SEMH school in Kidderminster. You will be supporting secondary aged students with Autism, challenging behaviour, ADHD and a range of additional needs, helping them prepare for adulthood in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, delivering engaging and personalised learning that supports both academic progress and life skills development. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEN • Adapt the curriculum to meet a range of learning needs, including Autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets • Support students' communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development • Prepare pupils for adulthood, including functional skills, independence, and employability skills • Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and well-being • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff to support holistic development Requirements: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent • ECT (Early Career Teacher) • Experience working with students that have SEN, particularly Autism and Learning Disabilities • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, and adaptable approach • Understanding of EHCPs and SEN best practices within a specialist setting • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) • Legal right to work in the UK Why Join Tradewind Recruitment? • Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities • Competitive salary based on experience • Access to free CPD and safeguarding training through The National College • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant • Opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people preparing for their next stage in life If you are a committed SEN Teacher looking to support students with additional needs in a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you.
