Job description

• A special needs school in Hackney is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to support pupils with Autism (Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This is a full-time, "temp-to-perm" position within a highly regarded Local Authority establishment. School OverviewThe school is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' special school catering to pupils aged 2-11. It is located in a modern, purpose-built facility designed to meet complex learning needs. • Class Size: 7 primary-aged pupils. • Support: 3 full-time Teaching Assistants assigned to the classroom. • Professional Development: Access to excellent induction programs and ongoing CPD training. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement personalised learning plans to promote student independence and social skills. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists. • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure an inclusive environment. • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers to support student development. Candidate Requirements • Qualifications: Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification. • Experience: Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD is essential. Previous experience in a primary setting is preferred. • References: Candidates must provide satisfactory professional references covering their recent employment or training history. • Vetting: Proven UK-based experience within the last 3 years is required for safeguarding compliance.
