Insourcing - Specialist Clinician – Neurodiversity SALT | Band 7 Location: Bedford Hours: Full Time (37.5 Hours per Week) Payment: LTD Company Contract Type: Insourcing About the Role We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Specialist Neurodiversity Speech & Language Therapist (SALT) to join a multidisciplinary Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team supporting children across Bedfordshire. You will play a key role in assessing and supporting children referred through the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) pathway, working closely with Community Paediatricians and other MDT professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic assessments and clinical recommendations. Key Responsibilities • Conduct specialist neurodevelopmental and communication assessments. • Assess children referred via the ASD pathway. • Participate in ADOS assessments, joint clinics and observational assessments. • Gather and analyse information from families, schools and other professionals. • Contribute to diagnostic decision-making and differential diagnosis. • Provide feedback and assessment outcomes to families and professionals. • Produce high-quality clinical reports and documentation. • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. • Support service development and neurodiversity pathway improvements. • Provide supervision and support to students where appropriate. Essential Requirements • Qualified Speech & Language Therapist with current HCPC registration. • Significant experience working with children with ASD and neurodevelopmental conditions. • Experience conducting specialist neurodevelopmental assessments. • Knowledge and practical experience of ADOS assessments. • Strong clinical reasoning and report-writing skills. • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams. • Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver sensitive feedback to families.
