What you will bring to the role Key aspects of the role that will appeal to the department include: • Specialist clinical role focused on the management of medical retinal disorders, including intravitreal therapy and retinal laser treatment. • Opportunity to contribute to urgent and emergency retinal pathways, supporting timely, sight-saving care. • Involvement in service development and improvement of Medical Retina pathways, including integration with urgent eye care services. • Teaching and mentoring responsibilities, including supervision and support of ophthalmology trainees and fellows. • Participation in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and risk management activities to support evidence-based practice. • Opportunities for academic and research collaboration with the University of Leeds, supporting innovation and clinical excellence. • Multidisciplinary and regional collaboration across ophthalmology subspecialties, primary care, and the wider Integrated Care System (ICS). • A well-structured 10 PA job plan incorporating clinics, virtual reviews, and protected Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) time. • The opportunity to work within one of Europe’s largest teaching hospital trusts, with access to leading expertise, technology, and a diverse patient population. • A values-led working environment aligned with The Leeds Way principles of patient-centred care, collaboration, accountability, fairness, and empowerment.
