Please note this is not a full list of duties: To see patients attending the Emergency Department, making primary diagnosis and initiating emergency treatment. This will be at middle-grade level (Senior Decision-Maker) within the department. Clinical leadership in the delivery of high-quality emergency care. Assessment, care and treatment of patients presenting to the ED. A role in maintaining the four-hour target for emergency access. Ensuring the appropriate referral of patients to inpatient specialties or tertiary centres. Liaison with clinicians and managers within and outside of the ED to address issues arising that affect the service. Teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including assessments. Audit, research and quality assurance processes.
