Speech & Language Therapist
• Annual Salary: £42,823 to £50,559
• Location: South-West London
• Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Plus 4 Weeks

We are seeking a dedicated Speech & Language Therapist who is passionate about working with individuals with learning disabilities in creative, functional, and person-centred ways.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Utilise a person-centred approach to promote choice, independence, and inclusion, in line with key principles such as Valuing People (DOH 2002) and the Human Rights Act.
• Maintain and model the highest level of respect for students and their families, promoting human rights, dignity, and individual choices.
• Collaborate with external agencies to ensure smooth transitions for students’ communication and dietary needs.
• Assess students' communication, eating, drinking, and learning environment needs using a range of formal and informal assessments.
• Manage clinical caseload independently, including the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
• Enable teaching and support staff to deliver the curriculum at an appropriate language and communication level through support plans, staff training, coaching, and class observations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
• Registration with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Experience with individuals who have moderate to severe learning disabilities and Autism.
• Competence in areas of communication, including AAC, and eating and drinking.
• Experience working within an educational setting with a strong understanding of AAC.
