Location Arundel Vacancy Type Part Time/Permanent Pay Range Grade 6 - £39,443 Pro rata for part time roles Contracted Hours 15 hours per week Application Deadline Monday, August 10, 2026 Job Profile Job Profile document Job Summary About the role To provide specialist Spiritual and Pastoral Care at Chestnut Tree House (part of the Southern Hospice Group) working as part of the multidisciplinary team to care for the complex pastoral, spiritual, and religious needs of children, young people and their families under the care of Chestnut Tree House. You'll be • Assess the complex pastoral, spiritual and religious needs of children, young people and their families using the services of Chestnut Tree House, and plan support and care accordingly, keeping up to date clinical records. • Develop and implement paediatric spiritual support for children, young people and their families, using the services of Chestnut Tree House, as they come to terms with living with their own particular situations, supporting them as they find their own sense of meaning and purpose. • Manage and prioritise referrals to the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care service of Chestnut Tree House. • To be a resource to the multi-disciplinary team at Chestnut Tree House in their understanding of, and response to spiritual, religious and pastoral care needs; working in collaboration with chaplaincy services across the Southern Hospice Group. • Provide and support appropriate training, including participation in internal and external training programmes, to promote good practice in spiritual care and paediatric informed spiritual care. • To offer pastoral, spiritual, and religious support to Chestnut Tree House staff and volunteers. • To foster links, and work collaboratively, with other faith, belief and spirituality leaders in the community for the benefit of patients, families and carers using the services of the Chestnut Tree House and the Southern Hospice Group. • To work with the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of bereavement care at Chestnut Tree House, including offering advice and information to families about funerals/memorial services and other related issues and, where appropriate, to officiate funerals.
