SQP / Registered Animal Medicines Advisor (RAMA) – Companion Animals Location: Paramount House, Birstall, West Yorkshire (On-site) Company: Fetch Retail Limited Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary:£30,000–£32,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid break) Join Fetch Retail Limited Fetch Retail Limited operates established online pet care businesses, supplying pet food, healthcare products, accessories and veterinary medicines to customers across the UK. As we continue to grow, we're expanding our veterinary medicines operation into our new warehouse at Paramount House, Birstall, West Yorkshire. We're looking for a qualified SQP / Registered Animal Medicines Advisor (RAMA) to play a key role in ensuring veterinary medicines are supplied safely, accurately and in full compliance with Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) requirements. This is a hands-on role that combines your professional SQP responsibilities with practical warehouse operations. About the Role Working alongside our existing Customer Service SQP and warehouse team, you'll be responsible for reviewing and authorising veterinary medicine orders before dispatch while helping ensure our warehouse operates to the highest standards of compliance. This isn't a desk-based role. You'll also take an active part in picking, checking, packing and dispatching veterinary medicine orders, ensuring every order is accurate, compliant and delivered safely to our customers. Key Responsibilities • Review veterinary medicine orders before dispatch. • Check customer and pet information, including species, age, weight and treatment details. • Identify missing, inconsistent or unsuitable information and refer orders where appropriate. • Authorise the supply of POM-VPS and NFA-VPS veterinary medicines in accordance with current legislation and company procedures. • Pick, check, pack and prepare authorised veterinary medicine orders for dispatch. • Verify the correct product, strength, pack size, quantity, expiry date and batch information. • Ensure all required usage instructions, warnings and product literature are included with each order. • Maintain compliant storage and handling of veterinary medicines, including temperature monitoring. • Manage stock rotation using First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) principles where appropriate. • Quarantine damaged, returned, recalled or expired medicines in accordance with company procedures. • Maintain accurate stock, supply, receipt, transfer and disposal records. • Support regular stock reconciliations and veterinary medicines audits. • Assist with the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Support VMD inspections and ensure the warehouse remains inspection-ready. • Train warehouse colleagues in the correct handling of veterinary medicines. • Escalate suspected adverse reactions, product quality concerns or suspected medicine failures. • Assist with general warehouse duties when required. About You Essential • Current SQP / RAMA registration with an approved registration body. • Qualified in the Companion Animal category. • Registration and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) fully up to date. • Strong understanding of supplying POM-VPS and NFA-VPS veterinary medicines. • Excellent attention to detail. • Confident reviewing customer and animal information and making professional decisions. • Comfortable undertaking warehouse duties, including picking, packing and preparing orders. • Good IT skills and experience using warehouse, order management or stock control systems. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Organised, reliable and committed to maintaining regulatory compliance. • Confident to challenge or stop an order where information is incomplete or the medicine may not be appropriate. Desirable • Previous experience working within an online veterinary medicines retailer, veterinary practice, pharmacy or pet retailer. • Experience working from VMD-authorised premises. • Knowledge of distance-selling processes for veterinary medicines. • Experience with warehouse stock control, batch management and expiry-date management. • Experience preparing for VMD inspections. • Experience writing or maintaining Standard Operating Procedures. • Previous warehouse or fulfilment experience.
