Staff Nurse - Oncology/Haematology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join the Haematology & Oncology Inpatient Ward at Private Care at Guys, part of HCA Healthcare UK. Rated Outstanding by the CQC, Private Care at Guys is one of the UK's leading private cancer centres, delivering innovative and highly specialised cancer care. Our service provides access to pioneering treatments including advanced immunotherapies, robotic-assisted cancer surgery and stem cell transplantation within a JACIE-accredited programme. As a Staff Nurse, you will work within a 20-bedded Haematology and Oncology ward, including dedicated stem cell transplant rooms, caring for patients with a diverse range of cancer and haematological conditions. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient-centred care while developing specialist knowledge within a supportive and highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with oncology and haematology conditions. • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans. • Monitor, record and report changes in patients' conditions, escalating concerns appropriately. • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with organisational policies and NMC standards. • Support patients undergoing complex cancer treatments and procedures. • Provide emotional support, education and advice to patients and their families throughout the patient journey. • Maintain patient dignity, privacy and respect at all times. Multidisciplinary Working • Work collaboratively with consultants, specialist nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care. • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings. • Contribute to discharge planning and the coordination of ongoing care requirements. • Support the delivery of safe and effective patient pathways across the service. Patient Safety and Quality • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records. • Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures and all relevant clinical policies. • Identify and escalate risks, incidents and safeguarding concerns appropriately. • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives and governance activities. • Contribute to maintaining a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors and colleagues. Professional Development • Actively participate in training, education and continuing professional development activities. • Develop specialist knowledge and skills within oncology, haematology and stem cell transplantation. • Maintain compliance with mandatory training and professional registration requirements. • Support junior colleagues, students and newly qualified staff where appropriate. • Reflect on practice and contribute to a culture of continual learning and improvement.
