Stress EngineerLocation: Hertfordshire Salary: Circa £58,000 + Excellent Benefits Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (Typically 3 Days On-Site) Security Requirements: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British Citizenship The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Stress Engineer to join a specialist engineering team responsible for the structural development of advanced aerospace and defence systems. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you'll lead structural analysis activities across the full product lifecycle, helping to develop highly complex engineering solutions from early concept studies through to detailed design, qualification, manufacture and in-service support. This role offers exposure to a broad range of structural analysis disciplines whilst providing opportunities to mentor junior engineers and influence future engineering approaches and methodologies. Key Responsibilities • Lead structural analysis activities on complex engineering programmes. • Plan, estimate and deliver structural analysis work packages. • Perform structural assessments using both classical hand calculations and computer-aided engineering tools. • Support engineering design development through analysis and technical recommendations. • Produce and present technical reports to engineering teams and senior stakeholders. • Support qualification, testing and validation activities. • Investigate structural performance issues and support root cause analysis activities. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering methods, tools and processes. • Mentor and support junior engineers. Skills & Experience RequiredWe are interested in speaking with engineers who can demonstrate experience in several of the following areas: • Structural analysis of complex engineering systems. • Stress analysis within aerospace, defence or highly regulated industries. • Finite Element Analysis (FEA). • Engineering calculations and classical hand-calculation methods. • Planning and delivering engineering analysis work packages. • Technical report writing and presentation of engineering findings. • Working within multidisciplinary development teams. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Technical ExperienceExperience in one or more of the following areas would be highly desirable: • Static Analysis • Dynamic Analysis • Fatigue Analysis • Impact Analysis • Non-Linear Analysis • Aeroelastic Analysis • Structural Integrity Assessment • Loads Analysis • Qualification Testing • Design Validation • Fault Investigation • Composite Structures Software & ToolsExperience using engineering analysis software is desirable, including: • HyperWorks • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools • Structural Modelling Software • Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools Experience with other structural analysis packages will also be considered.
