Job description

Supply Chain Manager | £45,000 | Greater Manchester | 4 days onsite I'm currently supporting a growing and commercially focused business in Greater Manchester that is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to take full ownership of their end-to-end supply chain operations. The position acts as a key link between suppliers, internal operational teams, and commercial stakeholders including Sales and Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with wider business objectives. This includes driving supplier accountability, improving service levels, and supporting business growth through strong commercial and operational insight. A significant part of the role involves supplier management across the full lifecycle, from sourcing and onboarding through to ongoing performance monitoring and improvement. You will lead supplier review processes, establish clear KPI frameworks, and ensure consistent delivery against agreed service levels. In addition, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining pricing models. Working closely with Sales and Finance, you will support tender and RFQ activity, ensuring pricing is accurate, commercially viable, and aligned with margin expectations. You will also contribute to broader commercial decision-making by analysing cost drivers, supplier capability, and market conditions. The role also requires a continuous improvement mindset, with responsibility for identifying inefficiencies, reducing risk, and enhancing overall supply chain performance. Key responsibilities: • Manage supplier sourcing, onboarding, and ongoing relationships • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements • Monitor supplier performance and manage KPI reporting frameworks • Lead structured supplier review meetings and improvement plans • Develop and maintain pricing models aligned with commercial strategy • Support tender and RFQ processes with Sales and Finance • Analyse supplier performance, cost structures, and market trends • Identify and deliver process improvements across the supply chain • Ensure compliance with supplier governance and documentation standards The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations management, with strong negotiation skills and a commercially minded approach. You should be confident working with data, comfortable using Excel, and able to communicate effectively across both operational and commercial teams. Experience in environments such as logistics, fulfilment, print, or other operationally complex industries would be advantageous but is not essential. If you are looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of the supply chain function and have direct impact on both operational performance and commercial outcomes, I would be keen to speak with you.
