Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Support Worker to join our team. MALE SUPPORT WORKERS ONLY. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to a Person We Support who has Severe Autism, ADHD and verbal Challenging Behaviour. This role involves supporting this Young Adult to go cycling, accompanying him to his football training & football matches, and also going to the gym with him. You are to ensure his safety and well-being at all times. Duties & Tasks • Maintain a safe environment • Support with difficult social situations • Support with making good habits and choices • Support to attend appointments with professionals involved in his care and advocate for his needs. • Support to attend various recreational activities like gym, football and cycling • Support with shopping, meal planning and budgeting • Emotional and practical support • Support to respond when in crisis or anxious / offer reassurance and support Qualifications • Previous experience with Autism, ADHD or Challenging Behaviour is highly desirable. • Certification in Oliver McGowan Training preferred but not essential; training may be provided. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both the Person We Support and family members. • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. • Ability to manage challenging behaviours with vulnerable people and understanding.
