Surface Preparation Operative Location: Reading Pay Rate: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm Contract: Temp to Perm Immediate Start Available We are currently recruiting for a Surface Preparation Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing business based in Reading. This is a hands-on role preparing metal components prior to the powder coating process. The successful candidate will be responsible for sanding, cleaning and preparing products to a high standard before they move through the next stage of production. The working environment can become very warm during peak periods, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C. Key Responsibilities • Sanding and preparing metal components ready for powder coating • Removing surface imperfections and defects • Cleaning and degreasing components prior to processing • Masking products where required • Carrying out visual quality inspections • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively • Maintaining a clean and organised work area • Adhering to all health and safety procedures Requirements • Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, assembly or preparation work would be advantageous • Experience using sanding equipment, grinders or hand tools is desirable • Good attention to detail and quality standards • Physically fit and comfortable working in a warm environment • Full UK driving licence and own transport essential • Ability to successfully pass a DBS check • Reliable, punctual and hardworking What We Offer • Immediate start available • Monday to Friday working hours • Temp-to-perm opportunity • £13.00 - £13.50 per hour • Full training provided • Long-term career prospects within a stable business Please note: Due to the nature of the work undertaken by the business, successful applicants will be required to undergo and pass a DBS check prior to commencing employment.
