Job Title: Teacher Location: Wigan School: Brand-New Independent SEND School (Up to 40 students) Salary: £32,000 – £39,000 depending on experience and qualifications Start Date: December 2026 Interview Dates: 27th and 28th July A Unique Opportunity to Join a New Specialist School We are seeking passionate, resilient and dedicated Teachers to join our brand-new independent SEND school opening in Wigan in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a founding staff team and help shape a nurturing, inclusive and highly personalised learning environment for young people with additional needs. Our new school will support up to 40 students aged 11–17, with small class sizes designed to provide individualised support and meaningful educational outcomes. Through integrated therapeutic support and a child-centred approach, we aim to help every student rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning and achieve their full potential. About the School Our new independent SEND school in Wigan will support students aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, ADHD, communication difficulties, and complex or co-occurring needs. Through very small class sizes and a highly personalised approach, supported by specialist staff and integrated therapeutic provision, the school will provide a safe, nurturing environment where young people who may have struggled in mainstream education can rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop the skills they need to succeed. The Role As a Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences that meet the individual needs of students. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will: • Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to individual student needs • Create a positive, safe and engaging classroom environment • Support students’ academic, social and emotional development • Adapt learning approaches to support a range of SEND and SEMH needs • Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff and families • Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans • Promote positive behaviour and strong student relationships We are looking for committed and compassionate professionals who are passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people. Essential Requirements • QTS or QTLS status is essential • Experience working with students with SEND and/or SEMH needs is essential • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills • A nurturing, flexible and student-centred approach to teaching • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing Desirable Requirements • Experience within specialist, alternative provision or independent school settings • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice • Experience delivering differentiated and personalised curriculums Why Join Northridge?
