Teaching Assistant - BasingstokeProspero Teaching is recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Basingstoke area. This role involves working closely with teachers to help create a positive learning environment and ensure pupils remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
You will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small-group assistance, helping pupils develop confidence, stay on task, and make progress in their learning. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference in education.
The Role:
• Support teaching and learning within the classroom
• Provide 1:1 support and assist with small-group activities
• Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons
• Assist with classroom tasks, resources, and learning activities
• Support behaviour management and positive routines
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience working with children or young people
• Patient, supportive, and confident in a classroom setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable and able to respond to different pupil needs
• Reliable, proactive, and organised
• Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
• Graduates looking to gain school experience encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
• Position: Teaching Assistant
• Location: Basingstoke
• Start Date: ASAP
• Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time
• Pay Rate:£14.25 - £15.66 per hour
• Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
• Experience working with children desirable
• SEN experience beneficial but not essential
• Safeguarding training can be provided
