A vibrant Primary School in Haringey, North London is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Year 3 team. This exciting Teaching Assistant role is perfect for someone who enjoys being active, building positive relationships with children, and using sport to motivate and engage pupils. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work predominantly within a Year 3 classroom, supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum. You will also provide occasional 1:1 support for a young boy with Autism (ASD), helping him remain engaged, regulate his emotions, and enjoy a successful school day. The school is particularly keen to hear from Teaching Assistant candidates who have a sporting background, whether through coaching, playing, or studying sport. Your enthusiasm and positive energy will be a real asset to both the pupils and the wider school community. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities • Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 3 class as a Teaching Assistant • Building positive relationships with pupils as a Teaching Assistant • Delivering occasional 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD as a Teaching Assistant • Using sport and physical activity to motivate and engage children • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and academic development as a Teaching Assistant • Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team as a Teaching Assistant • Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion throughout the school The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have • Experience working with primary-aged children (school, coaching or youth work) • A passion for sport, fitness or physical education • A positive, energetic and proactive approach • An interest in supporting children with additional needs, including Autism • Excellent communication and teamwork skills Why Apply? • Full-time Monday to Friday role • Friendly and supportive Primary School • Opportunity to work in a welcoming Year 3 class • Excellent experience for aspiring teachers, sports graduates and experienced Teaching Assistant candidates • Long-term opportunity with potential for permanent employment • Easily accessible by public transport across Haringey If you're a motivated Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with children and believes sport can make a real difference to young people's confidence and learning, we'd love to hear from you.
