Primary Teaching Assistant (KS1 & KS2) • Location: Barnet, London • Contract Type: Term Time Only • Hours: Full-time, 8:30am - 4:00pm • Pay: £2080-£2100 per month • Start Date: ASAP Are you passionate about making a difference in children's education? A thriving two-form entry primary school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, is seeking enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join their team across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping children achieve their full potential in a diverse and welcoming school community. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will: • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to help them feel secure and valued within the school. • Support children's learning across the curriculum, using strategies that encourage engagement, motivation and independence. • Provide targeted support for children with additional needs, liaising with the SENCo, Speech and Language Therapist, and other professionals as required. • Promote inclusion and respect for all, celebrating the diverse backgrounds and abilities of every pupil. • Use play, conversation, and structured interventions to support language development, literacy, numeracy, and personal growth. • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back regularly to class teachers. Supporting the Teacher and School Community • Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and prepare classroom resources. • Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour. • Supervise and lead both indoor and outdoor activities that support children's holistic development. • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, supporting strong home-school partnerships. • Maintain high standards of organisation, safety, and care within the classroom and wider school. • Contribute positively to the wider school environment and ethos. Who We're Looking For • Prior classroom experience as a Teaching Assistant (preferred but not essential). • A calm, reliable, and professional approach to working with children and staff. • A strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusive practice, and behaviour management. • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively within a team. • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and/or Early Years Framework is desirable.
