Job description

Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Nursery & Pre-School) • Location: Wyre Primary School • Start Date: 1st September 2026 • Contract: Autumn Term (initially) • Hours: 8:45am – 3:25pm, Monday to Friday • Working Pattern: Term Time Only We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our nursery setting, supporting children aged 2 years old and Pre-School age. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurturing individual who is passionate about early years education and committed to helping young children thrive in a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment. Day-to-day of the role: • Support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 2–4 years. • Assist the class teacher and nursery staff in delivering engaging early years activities. • Encourage children's social, emotional, and educational development through play-based learning. • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. • Support children with personal care needs where required. • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers. • Observe and report on children's progress and achievements. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). • Experience working within an Early Years, Nursery, or Pre-School setting. • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young children. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
